End of the Year Senior Recognition Program
Our End of Year program is an opportunity for our club to recognize the accomplishments of our members on a school year calendar. This also gives us time to share information on our seniors and the next phase of their lives. Stephan Freeman II will be attending the University of Texas at Arlington and major in Software Engineering. Elijah Colbert will be attending New Mexico Junior College and majoring in Film and Jahari Williams has enlisted in the United States Army. During the program we shared bios and age progression videos of these remarkable young men.
The club created a unique virtual background for the occasion and each club member displayed it throughout the program. Three “Scholarships” were presented to our deserving senior Sigma Betas - Elijah Colbert ($1000), Stephan Freeman II ($1000) and Jahari Williams ($250). Other awards that were presented included Sigma Beta Leadership Awards and Sigma Beta of the Year Award (Sigma Beta Bryce Morris). All leadership awards were wrapped and delivered to parents in advance and ready to be opened during the program. Once announced the winners were able to open their awards. The scholarships were delivered live utilizing phones to capture live feed during the program by brothers to the surprise of our seniors.

Additionally, the club invited a host of other speakers from all backgrounds to come and discuss their careers. Some speakers owned businesses and club members tested their products and were able to give feedback during our sessions.
As part of our Business Training & Development program, the “Beta Black Business Review” presented an opportunity for club members to learn and some great black owned businesses that are right in our very own backyard in Tarrant County and the DFW Metroplex. Including club member’s parents that started their own businesses in the middle of the pandemic, Edmond Cordova (Club member, Myles Cordova) opened PJ’s Coffee Shop in McKinney, TX and Nate Walker (Club member, Malique Walker) opened Chick'nCone in Dallas, TX.
